Christian (Chris) Weisenburger’s practice is focused primarily on the areas of taxation, corporate / commercial, estate planning and intellectual property. Predominately his clients are in the cleantech, software and video game sectors. He articled and worked at a national business law firm in Calgary, gaining exposure and experience in law pertaining to, among other things, the distribution of securities, before returning to his mother’s roots in Nova Scotia. Drawing upon his MBA and his learnings from successfully completing the Level II exam for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, Christian was honoured to work and gain experience at a well-respected business law firm in Halifax and be involved in an application before the Supreme Court of Canada. Christian regularly advises and provides services to clients with respect to corporate and partnership set-up, organization and taxation, financings, intellectual property, securities and estate planning. Christian sits or forrmerly sat on the board of directors of Churchill Academy, the Atlantic Buskers Festival Society, Stepping Stone and Apps 4 Good Incorporated and is a member of the Halifax Estate Planning Council and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He has published academic papers and been invited to speak at conferences on topics that include the wind-up of companies and the Canadian taxation of non-residents.
